# Every book has its own rules. Now the whole house knows them.

Contracts, foreign rights, royalty statements, house style and title sheets in one place, with the clause and the page. New editors find the answer without interrupting the person who's been there twenty years.

_Example: A copy editor asks how the series handles the serial comma: the Eko answers with the rule and the page of the style sheet._

## Sound familiar?

### Only she knows the house style by heart.

The managing editor has carried it in her head for twenty years. The official PDF dates from 2014, the exceptions agreed since are in her emails, and every new editor interrupts her ten times a day.

### “Can we do the e-book?”

The contract is from 2009, scanned, and the digital rights are in a side letter. To answer, someone spends an afternoon in the archive.

### Every release, the same details retyped.

Sales sheet, back cover copy, press release, data for the distributor: all copied by hand, until the price or the release date no longer match.

## The questions that all go through one person today.

With ekory they get an answer in seconds, with the source. Evenings and weekends too.

- What's missing before this title goes to print?
- How much do we owe the author for this half year?
- When do the Spanish rights revert to us?
- Draft the sales sheet for the reps.
- What did we promise the author for the launch?
- Do we already have something like this on our list?

_Example: Eko Editorial answers a copy editor with the series rule and the page of the style sheet._

## One Eko for each desk. The same rules for everyone.

## Shared where it helps, private where it matters.

- Advances and royalty rates are visible only to whoever handles contracts.
- Freelance editors and translators see the house style and the titles they work on.
- Only the people you choose can correct an Eko, and the fix applies to everyone.

## What publishers ask before they start.

### Can it read old scanned contracts, sales spreadsheets and contracts in other languages?

Yes. ekory reads PDFs (scanned ones too), Word, Excel and presentations, and answers in your language even when the contract with a foreign publisher is in German or Spanish, citing the original clause and page. Ekos also draft sales sheets, back covers and press releases on your templates, in the house's voice: whoever signs them reviews them before they go out.

### Can we keep advances and fees confidential?

Yes. In ekory you create a group for editorial, one for rights and one for publicity, and share with each only its own folders: advances, royalty rates and translators' fees stay with the people who should see them. Freelancers can get just the house style and the titles they work on. Everyone's conversations stay private.

### Do we have to move our catalog and contracts?

No. ekory reads files where they already are, in Google Drive, SharePoint, OneDrive or Notion, plus the catalog on your website. It stays up to date when a new contract or sheet arrives, without modifying your files. For the archive on your office server there's the company file server connection, which opens no access from outside.

### How much does it cost for a 10-person publisher?

For a 10-person publisher the total is €299 a month, excluding VAT: €199 for the platform plus €100 for the people. Pay annually and you pay for 10 months out of 12. The [pricing page](https://ekory.ai/pricing) works it out for your team.

### What about copyright? Will our authors' texts be used to train AI?

No: with ekory your content is never used to train AI models, and that's written into our contracts with the AI providers, including Google. Using an Eko on your contracts, catalog and procedures is about answering your team, not about training a model on your authors' work. Your data is stored in Europe, each Eko reads only the folders you give it, and conversations stay private.
